Corrections

Democratic Justice publishes formal logical proofs alongside its reporting. We invite readers to examine those proofs, challenge our reasoning, and hold us to the same standard of accountability we apply to the institutions we cover.

Our commitment

If we publish something that is factually inaccurate, logically unsound, or inadequately documented, we will correct it. Corrections are not quiet edits. They are public, specific, and permanent.

How we handle corrections

When a correction is warranted, we will:

  1. Update the article and its Proof Card with the accurate information.
  2. Add a dated correction notice at the top of the article identifying what was wrong, what the correct information is, and when the change was made.
  3. Preserve the original text in the article's revision history so readers can see exactly what changed.

If a correction materially affects the logic of a Proof Card, we will note whether the proof's conclusion still holds, requires modification, or must be withdrawn. A proof that cannot survive scrutiny does not deserve to stand.

How to request a correction

If you believe we have published inaccurate information or made an error in reasoning, contact us at proof@democraticjustice.org. Include the specific claim you are disputing, the article it appears in, and any documentation that supports the correction. We review every correction request and respond directly.
